FIRE CHIEF WEBMASTER

Located in Bossier Parish, Louisiana, our jurisdiction covers the Town of Benton and the surrounding area. The district starts at the northern city limit of Bossier City and extends north to LA Highway 160, and from the Red River to Midway, Louisiana. The district covers a total of 174 square miles with 7 Engines, 1 Ladder Truck, 4 Tankers, 3 Rescue Squads, 3 Grass/Brush trucks, and 3 staff vehicles from six fire stations.

Under the leadership of Fire Chief J. T. Wallace, Jr., there are three full time shifts proudly protecting the lives and property of the citizens in our district. Each shift consist of a Fire Captain and four firefighters and responds from Station #1. The full time firefighters are proud members of IAFF Local 4015. Along with the full time personnel, there are volunteer firefighters who respond on calls.

The fire district relies on Bossier Parish EMS to provide emergency medical service and transport to our community. Medic 2 is located in Benton and provides ALS (Advanced Life Support) Care to the citizens in our district. The fire district is dispatched by Bossier Parish 9-1-1 on frequency 154.340. We also use 151.100 as a repeated frequency for normal truck to truck radio traffic, and we use 154.130 as our fire ground frequency.

The fire district is always looking for dedicated men and women to become volunteer firefighters. For more information about becoming a volunteer with us, contact the station at 318-965-9454 or stop by the main Fire Station located at 306 5th Street.
